Curious about a career in school-based services? The Wraparound Way: Student Shadow Day invites high school and college students to experience firsthand how education and mental health professionals support students every day.

Key Objectives:

• • Real-World Exposure: Participants gain insights into daily tasks, work environments, and the skills required in specific roles, helping to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application.  The shadowing experience provides insights into the daily realities of working in fields like School Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, and Special Education (Intervention Specialist Roles).
  • Informed Decision-Making: By observing professionals in action, individuals can better assess their fit for a particular career, leading to more informed choices regarding their educational and career paths.
  • Networking Opportunities: Shadowing allows participants to build connections with industry professionals, which can lead to mentorship opportunities, internships, or job placements in the future.

A Day in the Life:

Spend the day in the field alongside an expert in the area you’re interested in pursuing. Shadow a Wraparound Experts professional at a school site and get an inside look at what their day-to-day work really looks like—from supporting students and collaborating with educators to navigating the unique challenges of working in a school environment.

You’ll also have the opportunity to visit our Cleveland headquarters, where you can see our office and clinical testing space and learn more about the work happening behind the scenes. If time allows, you’ll have the chance to connect one-on-one with a supervisor in your field of interest and ask questions about their career path and experience.

Throughout the day, you’ll get a firsthand look at the many professionals who make up a collaborative wraparound team and the impact they have on students, schools, and families.
